when considering a high school
 
 
Explore your options within the Nevada Joint Union High School District.
 
If you are not a resident of Nevada County and wish to transfer into the Nevada Joint Union High School District, you must first complete a transfer form from your current district of residence and provide your student's most recent grades, attendance, and discipline notes when sending the form to our district office for review (e: transfers@njuhsd.com).
Transfer requests should be completed as early as possible.

Transferring with Other Districts

If you live within the boundaries of the Nevada Joint Union High School District but choose to attend a school in a neighboring school district, you must complete an inter-district transfer form and return it to our district office (email: transfers@njuhsd.com).  Once approved, it will be forwarded to the school district you hope to attend and they will complete the process. 
 
If you live outside the boundaries of the Nevada Joint Union High School District but would like to attend one of our Nevada Joint Union High School District schools, you must complete an inter-district transfer form generated from the district you live in and provide your student's most recent grades, attendance, and discipline notes when submitting the form to our district office for review (e: transfers@njuhsd.com).  Transfer requests should be completed as early as possible. (We begin accepting applications for the next school year, in January each year.)
 
Interdistrict transfers may be denied or revoked based on unsatisfactory attendance, grades, and/or behavior.  Appeals for denied and/or revoked transfers should be made by sending an email to transfers@njuhsd.com within 10 days of the denial/revocation.  Failure to meet the timeline shall be deemed an abandonment of the request.
 
For an interdistrict transfer request received by the district 15 or fewer calendar days before the commencement of instruction in the school year for which the transfer is sought, the district will notify the parent/guardian of its final decision withing 30 calendar days from the date the request was received. 
 
For an interdistrict transfer request received by the district more than 15 days before the commencement of instruction in the school year fo which the transfer is sought, the district will notify the parent/guardian of its final decision as soon as possible, but no later than 14 calendar days after the commencement of instruction in the school year for which transfer is sought.
